Jafza and A-HEAT to Build Largest Heat Exchanger Production Facility in the Middle East
Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) has partnered with German technology group Allied Heat Exchange AG (A-HEAT) to establish the largest heat exchanger production facility in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The new facility will address the growing demand for energy-efficient cooling solutions, particularly in data centers requiring advanced thermal management to improve operational efficiency and sustainability. Jafza will develop the state-of-the-art site, which will span 1.2 million square feet, including a 400,000-square-foot built-up area. Operated by Güntner, A-HEAT’s flagship brand, the facility will be located within DP World’s premier free zone.

By localizing production, A-HEAT aims to enhance supply chain efficiencies and facilitate faster, more flexible deliveries to key markets, including the GCC, India, China, Africa, and Asia. The facility will serve as a central hub for manufacturing and distribution, strengthening the company’s global presence in the cooling industry.

The agreement was signed during the World Government Summit in Dubai, attended by senior executives from DP World and A-HEAT.

With the rapid expansion of data centers driven by artificial intelligence and cloud computing, the demand for energy-efficient cooling systems has surged. Cooling remains a major power-consuming component in IT infrastructure, making high-performance heat exchangers critical for reducing energy consumption and optimizing efficiency.

As part of the expansion, Güntner will manufacture advanced heat exchangers using natural refrigerants such as CO₂ and ammonia to promote energy efficiency. The facility will also produce aicore smart control solutions, which optimize cooling system operations to reduce energy consumption by up to 30%. Additionally, when integrated with hydroBLU technology, these systems will enhance efficiency by leveraging evaporation for cooling, potentially cutting water usage by up to 90%.

A-HEAT continues to expand its global footprint, with production facilities across four continents and offices in more than 34 countries. The new Jafza facility will reinforce its presence in the Middle East and contribute to sustainable industrial development in the region.
