Joachim Ley Appointed CEO of Ziehl-Abegg, Ensuring Continuity

Ziehl-Abegg, the renowned electric motor and fan manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Chief Operating Officer Joachim Ley as the new CEO. This move underscores the company's commitment to maintaining its legacy as a successful family business.

“Ziehl-Abegg is a family business and will continue to be so in the future," affirmed Dennis Ziehl, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. "This DNA has been moulded by my family over more than 100 years and this will continue in the face of global change.”

Joachim Ley, who joined Ziehl-Abegg in 2021, has been instrumental in driving the company's global growth. With a degree in industrial engineering, Ley has extensive management experience, including his role as COO overseeing production, purchasing, central logistics, and processes. Prior to joining Ziehl-Abegg, he was a Board member of a leading supplier in the aviation industry.

“With Mr. Joachim Ley (CEO), Mr. Wolfgang Mayer (CTO) and a successor for the position of CFO to be named as soon as possible, in future we will have an Executive Board comprising 3 members," explained Dennis Ziehl.

Dennis Ziehl expressed gratitude towards Dr. Wucherer and Mr. Olaf Kanig for their contributions. Dr. Wucherer, the outgoing CEO, implemented a forward-thinking strategy that positioned Ziehl-Abegg to compete globally. Olaf Kanig, serving as CFO for the past five years, has significantly contributed to the company’s positive development and will remain in his position until a successor is appointed.

“The Supervisory Board and I wish Dr. Marc Wucherer all the best and every success both for his future career and in his private life,” said Dennis Ziehl. He extended similar best wishes to Mr. Kanig, acknowledging his valuable service and future endeavors.
