Johnson Controls Named Leader in IoT Digital Platforms for Building Operations

Johnson Controls, a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, has been recognized as a leader in the Green Quadrant: IoT Digital Platforms for Building Operations 2024 report by independent analyst firm Verdantix. The acknowledgment highlights the company's OpenBlue digital ecosystem, which enhances building performance through AI-enabled insights, improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, optimizing space and equipment performance, and ensuring occupants' health and wellbeing.

OpenBlue, Johnson Controls' smart building platform, allows users to remotely manage and monitor building portfolios, promoting operational efficiency, energy savings, and maintenance management. The platform received top ratings in 'capabilities' for its comprehensive infrastructure and automation, providing customers with critical information for corrective and autonomous optimization, helping save energy, extend equipment life, and improve productivity.

Johnson Controls has consistently improved its solutions annually and debuted in the leader category in the 2019 Green Quadrant for IoT Platforms for Smart Buildings. The company's continued enhancement efforts were bolstered by the 2023 acquisition of FM:Systems, expanding OpenBlue's functionality with additional space performance features powered by a broad suite of sensors.

OpenBlue also excelled in 'momentum' categories such as customer adoption and strategic investments, receiving strong ratings for its deal structure and ecosystem offerings. 

The recognition by Verdantix emphasizes Johnson Controls' commitment to pioneering advancements in AI and automation to create smarter, sustainable buildings. The Green Quadrant report provides a thorough evaluation for property owners and managers to identify the most effective IoT digital building platforms for their needs.
