LG Electronics (LG) is promoting a set of HVAC offerings for the Gulf region, where the company says cooling is the largest energy consumer in buildings, accounting for 60–70% of total building energy use. LG positions the portfolio as part of its approach to support the region’s net-zero ambitions in extreme-climate applications.
For large-scale projects, LG is highlighting its Oil-Free Magnetic Bearing Chiller for applications including government infrastructure and “giga projects.” LG says the oil-free design reduces maintenance requirements and operating costs over the equipment’s lifespan, and that the chiller delivers high Integrated Part Load Value (IPLV) efficiency for facilities targeting energy reductions. The company also points to ultra-low noise operation for hospitality and mixed-use buildings, a compact footprint for retrofit installations, and algorithm-based capacity modulation to match fluctuating demand.
For commercial and residential buildings, LG is promoting its Multi V variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, which it says are designed for high ambient operation in harsh summer conditions. LG adds that the systems use algorithm-based energy optimization to manage refrigerant flow and compressor operation, with the aim of reducing consumption and lifecycle costs for building owners.
LG is also emphasizing BECON Cloud and Energy Monitoring as the platform layer across its chiller and VRF hardware. The company describes BECON as an AI-powered system that enables remote monitoring, energy analytics to identify consumption patterns and inefficiencies, and predictive maintenance functions intended to anticipate issues, reduce downtime, and extend equipment life.
LG says the combined chiller, VRF and BECON platform is intended to support energy optimization across both large developments and retrofit projects in the Middle East region.
