Lodam has become BITZER Electronics

As of today, Lodam Electronics A/S, specialised in the development of electronic control solutions for OEMs, will operate under the name BITZER Electronics A/S. BITZER thus emphasises the increasing relevance of electronic topics in the industry.

The BITZER subsidiary Lodam Electronics A/S, located in Sonderborg, Denmark, has been integrated into the BITZER umbrella brand as of 4 June 2019. This is accompanied by a change of name to BITZER Electronics A/S. This step anchors the electronics expertise at BITZER more firmly and strengthens the market position of the specialist for refrigeration and air conditioning technology for the long term.

BITZER acquired the Danish company Lodam in 2007. Over the years, the development, production, purchasing and quality of BITZER and Lodam have grown together. And modern requirements for energy efficiency and reliability can no longer be fulfilled without intelligent electronics. Today, motor protection devices, IQ modules and frequency inverters from Lodam are a central part of all BITZER compressors. Now the name change marks the next step. Lodam will be able to assume an even stronger position with customers, potential customers and as an employer, and BITZER can expand its innovation leadership in the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump industry.

Gianni Parlanti, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer and member of the BITZER Executive Board: ‘With the renaming of Lodam, we’re showing our customers worldwide that all our components come from a single source and are an excellent match with each other. BITZER is not only a supplier of compressors, but of intelligent ones, and we develop many of these intelligent ideas for compressors together with our Danish subsidiary.’

The BITZER Group is a strong digitalization partner for its customers. With Lodam, BITZER has been increasingly incorporating electronic components into its products. By changing its name, the specialist for refrigeration and air conditioning technology is also demonstrating how important Lodam is for its success and is integrating the subsidiary even better into the group of companies.

Competence for electronics
Apart from the name change, there will be no other structural changes for the BITZER employees at the Sonderborg site. Lodam, based in Sonderborg, Denmark, was founded in October 1968 and has been part of the BITZER Group since 2007. At that time, Lodam Electronics had 23 employees, and has now grown to over 110. The Danish specialist develops electronic control systems designed for OEMs working in the field of cooling, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

The BITZER Group is further expanding its activities in the electronics segment – most recently by forming a joint venture with automation expert Wurm.
