Malco Group appoints category directors for HVACR segments

The Malco Group said it is establishing dedicated category leadership in refrigeration, condensate management and worksite solutions to drive portfolio expansion and growth across HVACR and building construction. The manufacturer and distributor said the appointments are intended to support solutions designed to “improve the life of the trade pro,” and to strengthen its position in the HVACR and building construction segments.

Garrett Wong has been appointed Category Director, Refrigeration, and will lead strategy and growth for the company’s refrigeration category, including the new MalcoEdge line of refrigeration tools. Malco said Wong has more than 20 years of experience developing and marketing manufactured solutions and previously developed and launched digital and non-digital HVACR tools at Fieldpiece Instruments.

Jeff Ponce has been appointed Category Director, Condensate Management, and will lead Malco’s condensate management portfolio, with a focus on growth for brands including Aspen Mini Pumps and Beckett. Malco said Ponce has more than a decade of experience in construction, plumbing and HVAC product development, including roles at RectorSeal and Pentair, spanning the full product lifecycle and work across physical solutions and digital platforms.

Jim Brooks has been appointed Category Director, Worksite Solutions. Malco said Brooks brings 37 years of executive leadership and previously served as CEO of Veto Pro Pac, where he led growth initiatives and helped establish Veto as the global leader and innovator in the premium tool bag category; in the new role, he will support expansion of Malco’s worksite solutions portfolio.

“Each of these leaders have a proven track record of driving growth and innovation in competitive markets,” said Rich Benninghoff, CEO of The Malco Group. “Their experience enhances our ability to provide complete, trade-ready solutions while accelerating the development of category innovations designed to support the evolving needs of the trades.”
