Marley NC Everest Cooling Tower Named 2019 Environmental Leader Product of the Year

Marley NC Everest Cooling Tower Named 2019 Environmental Leader Product of the Year

SPX Cooling Technologies, Inc. announces the Marley Product of the Year.

The annual award program, in its seventh year, recognizes the most innovative and successful commercial and industrial products and projects in the environment and energy space. An independent panel of industry experts judge the entries each year. The winners are selected based on the success and capabilities of the project, and its positive effect on the industry. The winners were formally recognized and celebrated at the Environmental Leader & Energy Manager Conference on May 14, 2019, at the Marriott Denver Tech Center.

According to the judges, “The HVAC unit [NC Everest Cooling Tower] has the ability to revolutionize the industry due to its efficient cooling mechanisms and work structure. [It’s] a breakthrough in cooling tower design and development.”

Certified by the Cooling Technology Institute (CTI), the Marley NC Everest Cooling Tower is a crossflow evaporative cooling system that provides up to 50 percent more cooling capacity compared with other single-cell, factory-assembled cooling towers.

In addition to unmatched cooling capacity, the NC Everest uses up to 35 percent less fan power to achieve higher energy savings. Its unique modular design minimizes piping and electrical connections, and also allows projects to be completed in a fraction of the time needed to construct a field-erected cooling tower, yielding substantial savings in installation costs and energy use.

Equipped with innovative MarKey drift eliminators, the NC Everest achieves low drift rates, down to 0.0005% of circulating water flow, so less water escapes the tower. It also incorporates highly efficient PVC heat transfer fill media and integral louvers for maximum water containment.

Because quiet operation is becoming increasingly important, NC Everest Cooling Tower sound levels are independently verified per CTI ATC-128 test code by third-party CTI-licensed test agents and certified acoustical engineers. SPX Cooling Technologies’ Marley brand is the only factory-assembled cooling tower subjected to this rigorous independent sound testing.

“We are excited to announce the 2019 EL & EMT Award winners and celebrate the significant sustainability and energy management products or project results achieved by the winners,” said Paul Nastu, President, Business Sector Media. “Every year we’re amazed at the technology leaps bold vendors are taking in product development and the projects that commercial and industrial companies are undertaking to reduce environmental impacts and energy use. This year’s products and projects have certainly raised the bar.”
