Midea Brings High-Performance Heat Pump Technology to Canada

Midea, the global leader in major appliances and innovative heat pump solutions, is expanding its presence in Canada with a lineup of advanced, high-efficiency heat pumps tailored for the country's diverse and challenging climates. With a focus on sustainability and cost-effectiveness, Midea's cutting-edge systems support electrification, reduce energy expenses, and take advantage of Canadian national and regional energy efficiency incentives.

Cold Climate Innovation for Canadian Homes

Central to Midea's offerings is the EVOX G3 Heat Pump and Air Handler Unit (AHU), which features the company’s proprietary Enhanced Vapor Injection (EVI) technology. This system achieves 100% heating output at temperatures as low as -15°F (-26°C) and operates reliably down to -22°F (-30°C), making it ideal for harsh Canadian winters. Designed for adaptability, the EVOX G3 integrates seamlessly with existing air handler units and can be customized for multi-zone setups, including ducted and ductless configurations. Its side-discharge heat pump and modular AHU design make installation in tight spaces easy while maximizing energy efficiency.

The EVOX G3 is part of a broader range of cold climate heat pumps engineered for compatibility with existing HVAC systems, simplifying upgrades for homeowners and minimizing the need for extensive renovations.

Diverse Heat Pump Solutions for Every Need

Midea’s innovative lineup extends beyond the EVOX G3 system to include:

  • Midea Packaged Window Heat Pumps: Compact and versatile solutions for specific installations.
  • Heat Pump Water Heaters (HPWH): Leveraging advanced air-source heat transfer technology, these units are up to four times more efficient than traditional electric water heaters, offering substantial energy savings and qualifying for Canada’s Greener Homes Grant Program.

These products ensure reliable, efficient heating and cooling for Canadian homes while meeting the country's highest performance and energy efficiency standards.

Commitment to Sustainability and Canadian Climate Goals

Midea's heat pumps align with Canada's ambitious climate objectives by enabling homeowners to reduce carbon footprints and energy costs. The systems qualify for incentives like the Canada Greener Homes Loan and the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability (OHPA) Program, which encourage the adoption of energy-efficient technologies.

New Canadian Showroom and Training Hub

To support its growing presence in Canada, Midea opened its first flagship showroom and training center on December 2 in Mississauga, Ontario. The 23,000-square-foot facility showcases Midea's advanced heat pump systems, including the EVOX G3 and HPWH, and serves as a training hub for local contractors. The center ensures that Midea's products are installed and maintained to the highest standards across the Toronto region.

A Step Toward Nationwide Expansion

The Mississauga showroom marks the beginning of Midea's commitment to the Canadian market, with plans to open additional facilities in key regions across the country. By bringing its advanced technologies to Canadian contractors, tradespeople, and homeowners, Midea is driving the transition to sustainable, energy-efficient heating solutions.

Future-Ready Solutions for Canada

Midea's expansion into Canada underscores its commitment to supporting homeowners in achieving year-round comfort and sustainability. By offering versatile, high-performance heat pumps backed by training, incentives, and innovative technology, Midea is positioned to transform the Canadian heating and cooling market while contributing to the country's environmental goals.
