Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has announced that its subsidiary, Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A. (MEHITS), has acquired a stake in Intramech Pty Ltd., a South African company specializing in sales and services for applied HVAC and IT cooling systems.
The investment aims to strengthen Mitsubishi Electric’s one-stop service capabilities in southern Africa by combining its product portfolio with Intramech’s local expertise in sales, service, and engineering. The companies plan to jointly offer integrated services including technical support, sales, installation, operation, and maintenance.
This move responds to growing demand for IT cooling solutions driven by increased data center construction across Africa. Data center operators are increasingly seeking comprehensive service offerings that cover the full lifecycle of cooling equipment.
Mitsubishi Electric stated that the partnership will help expand both companies’ know-how and reinforce its regional presence to better support the evolving needs of the southern African market.
