Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US Announces New Senior Director of Continuous Improvement

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US (METUS), the exclusive provider of Zoned Comfort Solutions and a leading supplier of Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) heating and cooling systems, is pleased to announce the hiring of Sabrina McCorvey as senior director of continuous improvement, a new position at the company.

McCorvey is a process-oriented Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with proven success leading teams and mentoring project managers to meet department and operational goals. Before joining METUS, she held continuous improvement leadership positions at International Paper, where she trained, coached and mentored continuous improvement staff at the paper mills. While at McCorvey & Associates, LLC, she used continuous improvement to help clients achieve their business goals. For over 12 years, McCorvey worked for Acuity Brands Lighting (ABL) in various roles in engineering, operations, and continuous improvement. As director of southeastern operations, she managed a specialty manufacturing area and ABL’s largest distribution center. In her role as director of Acuity Business Systems deployment at ABL, she was responsible for Lean and Six Sigma training, coaching and mentoring over 5,000 employees.

At METUS, McCorvey is responsible for the development and implementation of lean practices and principles. She drives lean transformation and is tasked with changing company culture and coaching leaders through problem solving and countermeasure development when targets aren’t achieved. McCorvey also oversees and manages the company’s Continuous Improvement Deployment Plan (CIDP), strategy deployment process and lean business operating system.

“Sabrina will be an incredible asset to the company,” said Mark Kuntz, chief executive officer, Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US. “We are confident that her extensive knowledge in continuous improvement will help us to meet and then exceed our goals.”

McCorvey holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia and a master’s degree in business administration from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.
