Mukundan Menon, Executive Director at Voltas, has been named President of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Manufacturers Association (RAMA). RAMA, aligned with the Confederation of Indian Industry, is instrumental in shaping government policies for the industry.
Menon replaces Kanwaljeet Jawa, Daikin Airconditioning's Managing Director, who led for four years. His presidency will span two years. Previously, Menon served as RAMA's vice president for the past four years.
Menon's extensive background in mechanical engineering and management includes a B Tech, a Graduate Diploma in Management, and prestigious management development programmes at IIM Ahmedabad and INSEAD France. In July 2023, he joined Voltas, bringing over 30 years of experience leading HVAC sectors, including roles as President & COO at Blue Star Limited and Director at Blue Star Climatech Limited.
Under Menon's leadership, RAMA will focus on collaborating with the government on initiatives like the Make in India programme, energy efficiency, and sustainable building practices. The association also aims to tackle issues of global warming refrigerants and develop integrated cold chain infrastructure.
