Nominations open for the 2019 AIRAH Awards

Industry leaders are invited to apply for the premier accolades of the Australian HVAC&R world – the AIRAH Awards.

Each year AIRAH selects the leading people, projects and products of our industry and holds a black-tie gala dinner to celebrate their achievements. The finalists and winners receive much-deserved recognition on the night, as well as a stamp of excellence that they can display with pride in the months and years that follow.

Nominations are now open for the 2019 AIRAH Awards. There are 13 different categories covering the gamut of HVAC&R projects and industry endeavour. These include Excellence in Sustainability, Best HVAC Retrofit or Upgrade, Excellence in Refrigeration, Best Product, Excellence in Innovation, Student of the Year, and
Future Leader.

AIRAH CEO Tony Gleeson, M.AIRAH, encourages individuals and companies to “dare to dream” about winning an award.

“It’s the nature of the HVAC&R industry that we tend to be quiet achievers,” Gleeson says. “AIRAH regularly meets people who are doing world-class work, but they perhaps haven’t thought about the benefits of nominating for an award – or they are just too busy!

“To those people we say, ‘Get in touch’. We will be happy to talk to you about whether a project or colleague would be eligible, and which award category would be most appropriate. Our team can also guide you through the formal nomination process.”

This year the AIRAH Awards gala dinner will be held in Sydney’s Doltone House on Thursday, November 14. Over the past decade the awards ceremony has established itself as a must-attend event of the HVAC&R calendar. Last year 260 of the industry’s leaders came together to applaud the very best of the sector.

“One of the goals of the AIRAH Awards is to encourage our industry to value its achievements and put them forward so they can be celebrated,” says Gleeson.

“For the finalists and winners it’s a huge accolade, but it’s also valuable for our sector as a whole because it shines a light on the amazing and often-overlooked work that we do.”
