Nordic Climate Group acquires Climanova, enters Belgium market

Nordic Climate Group has acquired Climanova, a Dutch-Belgian company specializing in cooling, climate control, and heating systems. The acquisition expands the Group’s operations in the southwest of the Netherlands and marks its first entry into Belgium.

Founded in 1987, Climanova is based in Eede, the Netherlands, and Ghent, Belgium. The company employs approximately 45 people and reported a turnover of around EUR 13 million in 2024. Its primary focus is the industrial sector, which accounts for 81% of revenue, alongside projects in commercial real estate and the agro and food industries.

Climanova operates through three business units: Industrial Solutions, Buildings & Facilities, and Agro & Food. The company emphasizes practical, tailored solutions and long-term service, using natural refrigerants such as CO2 and propane.

“Climanova is an excellent strategic addition to the Nordic Climate Group. They have a strong local brand with long industry experience, cutting-edge technical expertise in our core areas, and primarily work with installations using the natural refrigerants CO2 and Propane,” said Erik Snijders, CEO for Nordic Climate Group in the Netherlands.

Climanova’s founder and CEO, Harold Buijsse, stated: “Joining Nordic Climate Group enables us to serve our clients even better, while staying true to what sets us apart: personal contact, customized solutions, and reliability.”

Geert Engels, current CTO and co-owner, added: “Becoming part of Nordic Climate Group is a natural next step for Climanova. We look forward to further developing together with a strong and long-term partner.”

The acquisition supports Nordic Climate Group’s broader strategy of building a European network of local companies focused on energy-efficient and sustainable climate solutions.
