Nordic Climate Group Appoints Malin Appelgren as Head of Sustainability and Development

Nordic Climate Group has strengthened its leadership by naming Malin Appelgren as the new Head of Sustainability and Development. The group, which has rapidly expanded since its inception in May 2021, now employs about 1,850 people across over 100 locations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and the Netherlands, with a turnover of SEK 5 billion.

As the Nordic leader in cooling, heating, and energy-efficient installations, the appointment of Appelgren aims to bolster sustainability and development initiatives amid the group's robust growth.

Appelgren expressed enthusiasm for the role, saying, "I’m motivated to enhance our sustainability efforts, helping our customers reduce their climate footprint with natural cooling media and energy-efficient solutions." She praised the group's competence and commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) with concrete goals for climate action.

Starting her career as a toxicologist, Appelgren has spent the past 20 years in politics and the public sector, most recently serving in Ambea AB's leadership team as Director for Growth, Marketing, and Communication, overseeing sustainability within property and transports.

Fredrik Gren, CEO of Nordic Climate Group, welcomed her appointment, stating, "We’re delighted that Malin has joined us. Her competence and leadership experience will significantly contribute to our continued growth."

Appelgren assumed her new role on December 16, 2024.
