The Clifford H. "Ted" Rees, Jr. Scholarship Foundation, a charitable arm of the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), has awarded $166,500 in scholarships to 93 students pursuing careers in the HVACR and water heating industry in 2025. Among the recipients are five military veterans and 11 SkillsUSA participants.
The scholarships support students enrolled in technician training programs across the United States. Recipients also received complimentary Ready-to-Work certification tests through a partnership with North American Technician Excellence (NATE).
“Each year, the Foundation provides aid to these aspiring technicians, helping to promote careers in the industry and fill good-paying jobs that cannot be outsourced,” said Stephen Yurek, AHRI President and CEO. “We are pleased to award scholarships to these qualified and dedicated students, and we look forward to welcoming them into the industry.”
Since its establishment in 2003, the Rees Scholarship Foundation has awarded over $1.6 million to more than 900 students.
