RETA-RSES publishes new HVACR fundamentals book for entry-level technicians

RETA-RSES has released the first title in a new educational book series, Book 1: Introduction to HVACR, aimed at supporting entry-level technicians entering the HVACR industry.

The 347-page book is designed for students, helpers, maintenance assistants, apprentices, and other individuals interested in improving safety and efficiency in HVACR operations. It serves as an introductory course and aligns with RSES’s mission to offer comprehensive technical education and certification.

The book features seven chapters covering safety, heating and cooling basics, installation procedures, system fundamentals, valves, and controls. It also includes an HVACR career pathway guide, a glossary, end-of-chapter quizzes, and a final practice exam. Readers can complete an online exam via the RSES eLearning platform to earn a certificate of completion worth 20 CEHs/PDHs or 2 CEUs, with a passing score of 70% or higher.

Available in print and eBook formats, the publication will also be released as an online course. Purchase is available through the RSES online store, with member discounts and bulk pricing options.
