1,000 m² facility in Arvika to enhance product development and customer testing
Swegon has announced the construction of a new test centre for acoustic and waterborne products in Arvika, Sweden. The initiative expands the company’s testing capabilities, aiming to support advanced product development, full-scale customer demonstrations, and future business opportunities in sustainable indoor climate solutions.
The new facility will complement Swegon's existing test centre, which has been operational for over 30 years. The project is structured in three phases. Phase one includes the construction of a 1,000-square-meter (approx. 10,764 ft²) facility adjacent to the current building, scheduled for completion by the turn of the year 2025/2026. Phases two and three will add a visitor area with full-scale test rooms and upgrade existing capacity rooms. The full project is expected to conclude by summer 2026.
According to the company, the new test environment will enable modernised and larger-scale testing, including capabilities not currently available. These include advanced sound measurements for hydronic systems and improved testing of silencers, supporting development of energy-efficient and acoustically optimised indoor solutions.
"A new test centre will ensure continued efficient product development and testing. We will also be able to offer more advanced tests and customer demonstrations than we do today," said Robert Andersson, VP Business Area Room Units.
The facility will also incorporate Swegon INSIDE’s digital services and visualisation tools to demonstrate how tested products contribute to improved indoor climate and energy performance. Swegon sees the investment as a critical step in maintaining its competitive position and ensuring long-term innovation capacity in the HVACR sector.
