Swisslog France Creates Europe's First Tri-Temp AutoStore

Swisslog France is excited to announce a transformative collaboration with La Réserve des Saveurs (Disprodal), a family-owned food distributor in the Rhône-Alpes region, to develop an industry-first, fully automated tri-temperature storage and preparation facility for dry, cold, and frozen foods. This innovative project integrates AutoStore’s advanced technology for managing multi-temperature zones, setting a new benchmark in refrigerated logistics.

A First-of-its-Kind Multi-Temperature Grid

The AutoStore Multi-Temperature Grid developed by Swisslog offers a pioneering approach to food logistics, enabling fresh, frozen, and dry products to be managed in a single facility. By eliminating traditional cold storage requirements, this technology significantly optimizes storage capacity and improves energy efficiency. The system includes both ambient and fresh storage zones with two dedicated frozen modules, all managed centrally by Swisslog’s SynQ WMS/WCS platform. Orders are picked and replenished at a single point and can be held for later collection, streamlining the process and enabling next-level efficiency.

Radical Supply Chain Transformation for SMEs

The project marks a critical step forward for La Réserve des Saveurs, a Back Europ distributor, enabling them to modernize operations by reducing delivery times to under half a day and minimizing their carbon footprint. The initiative also opens a new pathway for SMEs seeking efficient and sustainable logistics solutions. Swisslog’s expertise allowed the company to reimagine its logistics approach entirely, fostering growth and positioning it as a forward-thinking leader in sustainable practices.

Innovation Through Collaboration

The success of this revolutionary project is rooted in strong collaboration between Swisslog, refrigeration partner Froid Seicar, and the dedication of Alexandre Grandjean, Director of La Réserve des Saveurs. Grandjean’s vision, paired with Swisslog’s custom solutions, brought this ambitious project to life. Notably, the facility features ‘Fusion Port Staging,’ a unique dual workstation that enhances picking speed and productivity by doubling output. Swisslog is currently the only integrator in Europe implementing such an advanced AutoStore solution, underscoring its leadership in logistics automation.

Grandjean remarked, “This project is a game-changer for our operations, enhancing efficiency while significantly reducing our environmental impact. We plan to expand this technology across three sites by the end of next year.”

Setting a New Standard for Sustainable Logistics

This breakthrough project establishes a critical foundation for La Réserve des Saveurs' sustainable logistics future. Markus Kirchhoff, Swisslog’s Head of Business Unit AutoStore Europe, stated, “Our team’s achievement in delivering this multi-temperature grid project is a testament to our commitment, expertise, and innovative spirit, setting a new standard in automated storage solutions.”

Swisslog’s ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of energy-efficient automation positions it as a leader in transforming logistics, aligning with the global movement toward sustainable and efficient supply chain solutions.
