TEFCOLD Acquires Serrco to Expand Beverage Cooling Portfolio

TEFCOLD Group has acquired Serrco, a Dutch specialist in professional beverage cooling solutions, including high-end keg coolers and back bars. The acquisition expands TEFCOLD's market presence and product offerings.

“The addition of Serrco to the TEFCOLD Group is allowing us to enter into new areas of our customers' business,” said TEFCOLD CEO Jesper Kirkeby Hansen. “The products and the service set up Serrco has developed is of an outstanding quality and extremely customer friendly.”

Serrco, based in Etten-Leur, Netherlands, has five employees, an office, and a warehouse. The company’s former owners see the acquisition as an opportunity for further growth.

“After having successfully grown Serrco to where it is today, we are happy to pass the company over to TEFCOLD to continue the journey into the future,” said Erik Snijders, co-owner of Serrco. “We believe that being part of a larger group will allow the products to enter a bigger part of the European market.”

Co-owner Hedwig Kouters added, “Continuing the growth requires a larger set up that is better done in a bigger European group such as TEFCOLD. In TEFCOLD, the products will be present in more locations and in larger numbers. Existing customers will not only have access to a larger stock and a full service set up but also a very large range of complementary plug-in cooling products and a dedicated digital platform enabling them to be more successful.”

Serrco will be integrated into TEFCOLD Benelux, with its staff remaining in place. The company will operate under the TEFCOLD name. Hedwig Kouters will take on the role of Key Account and Product Director, while Erik Snijders will continue as a part-time consultant.

“I am thrilled to strengthen our team, our position in the Benelux area, and our product portfolio,” said Steven van Sweevelt, Managing Director Benelux. “The new product range fits well into our strategy and our service and supply chain organization.”

TEFCOLD, headquartered in Viborg, Denmark, has nearly 200 employees across 11 countries and serves over 6,000 customers. Its supply chain operates from eight warehouses in Europe, delivering more than 150,000 coolers annually to nearly 100 countries.

“We are really pleased to add Serrco,” said TEFCOLD Group Chairman and majority owner Torben L. Christensen. “Acquisitions play an important part of our growth strategy. Finding and being able to acquire the right companies is critical to our success.”
