Texas-based NexCore adds three HVAC firms, surpasses 900 staff

NexCore, a provider of commercial HVAC services in the United States, said it concluded 2025 with three acquisitions that added more than 155 employees, bringing its workforce to over 900 full-time employees across six operating hubs nationwide. The company said it now services a broad geographic region across the Northeast and Southeast, supporting a range of commercial clients.

The 2025 acquisitions were Action Air Systems, Accutemp Engineering, and FX Automation, which NexCore said strengthened its presence and service capabilities in the Northeast. Action Air Systems, based in Connecticut, is a full-service mechanical contractor offering commercial HVAC service through preventive maintenance contracts, design and build, installation and repair, plumbing, piping, and sheet-metal fabrication for commercial, industrial, institutional, and government clients.

Accutemp Engineering, based in Massachusetts, provides commercial HVAC service through preventive maintenance contracts, design and build, construction, air quality testing, and ductwork services. NexCore said FX Automation, a commercial HVAC controls solutions provider serving customers throughout Massachusetts, was acquired as a tuck-in to Accutemp, bringing building automation and controls capabilities in-house.

NexCore said these were the ninth, tenth, and eleventh additions to its platform since it was formed in March 2023 by Trinity Hunt Partners. The company listed prior acquisitions as Alliance Group, Pratt & Smith Electric, Sylvester & Cockrum, Avonda Air Systems, Rycandon Mechanical, Kennedy Mechanical, and Ryan Plumbing & Heating.

“As NexCore approaches its third anniversary, we are proud and excited to welcome Action Air, Accutemp, and FX Automation to the NexCore family,” said Steve Knowles, CEO of NexCore. “NexCore’s success in partnering with high-quality businesses and executives demonstrates the platform’s ability to establish a strong foothold in a highly fragmented industry,” said Garrett Greer, Partner at Trinity Hunt.
