Toshiba Carrier UK Ltd (TCUK) congratulates the participants and winners of this year’s SkillFRIDGE competition, which culminated in a hard-fought finals event at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC). SkillFRIDGE promotes exceptional industry standards through competitions for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump (RACHP) students. TCUK is a joint venture between Toshiba Carrier Corporation and Carrier in the United Kingdom, and is part of Carrier, a leading global provider of innovative heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, fire, security and building automation technologies.

As the headline sponsor, TCUK has been a strong supporter of SkillFRIDGE over the last several years as part of its mission to raise the bar on skill levels across the air conditioning industry.

“On behalf of TCUK and the Toshiba, Carrier and CIAT brands, I am delighted to add my congratulations to all those who took part in this year’s event,” said David Dunn, TCUK’s managing director for new equipment sales. “As the industry’s national competition, it takes a high level of skill, determination and composure to make it to the finals. Warmest congratulations to Sidney Copus on becoming the UK’s SkillFRIDGE champion 2019, and to Ben Wilson and Joshua Collins on winning the Silver and Bronze medals respectively. We wish you success in your future careers.”

As well as being headline sponsor of the competition, TCUK provided a range of equipment for this year’s SkillFRIDGE events, including components for piping test rigs, and graphical recreations of Toshiba outdoor units. The company also supplied controls rigs equipped with various interfaces, including its remote controllers and award-winning TouchScreen controller.

“As a global leader in high efficiency, high performance air conditioning, we believe it is vital to support and encourage the industry to improve the level of knowledge and technical skills,” added Dunn. “It is in everyone’s interest to raise the bar, from the quality of design and installation to commissioning and ongoing servicing and maintenance throughout the equipment life-cycle. SkillFRIDGE is a superb initiative.”
