UNEP OzonAction Releases Catalogue of Tools to Support Montreal Protocol Goals

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) OzonAction Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP) has published a new catalogue of ‘Products and Tools’ aimed at supporting National Ozone Units (NOUs) and stakeholders in implementing the Montreal Protocol and its Kigali Amendment.

The catalogue presents a wide array of information and capacity-building resources, including technical publications, training manuals, factsheets, quick-reference tools, newsletters, online courses, and awareness materials. It is designed to provide structured access to resources developed by CAP since 1991, tailored to the evolving needs of developing countries.

By organizing these materials thematically, the catalogue supports informed decision-making on technology and policy to reduce ozone-depleting substances (ODS) and transition to sustainable, climate-friendly alternatives. It also facilitates the implementation of Montreal Protocol-related projects and contributes to climate change mitigation.

“Collective learning and dissemination are essential for protecting the ozone layer and mitigating climate change,” the release states, encouraging NOUs to share the catalogue widely and provide feedback to help refine future resources.

The initiative aligns with UNEP’s long-standing commitment to science-based support for compliance and capacity-building in developing countries, reinforcing the goals of the Montreal Protocol through practical, accessible knowledge tools.
