Wolseley opens second UK Renewables Centre in Swansea

Wolseley Group has opened its second Renewables Centre in Swansea, aiming to support trade professionals in meeting growing demand for low-carbon installations driven by national decarbonisation targets.

The facility will offer hands-on training, technical support, and design advice to help installers respond to the increasing market for technologies such as solar PV and air source heat pumps. The launch aligns with the Welsh Government’s target of installing 580,000 heat pumps by 2035.

The Swansea centre follows the earlier opening of Wolseley’s first Renewables Centre in Shrewsbury, where training courses are already underway. Located adjacent to the Swansea Plumb Centre, the new site was launched during a discovery day that introduced local installers to available services and expert guidance.

Dan Marsden, Director of Renewables at Wolseley Group, said: “We’re excited to open our second Renewables Centre facility in Swansea today. Since launching earlier this year, we’ve seen overwhelming enthusiasm from installers looking to enhance their skills and capitalise on the rapidly growing renewables market.”

While the UK Government’s Heat Training Grant currently applies only to installers in England, Wolseley is fully funding air source heat pump training in Wales and Scotland. The Swansea centre is part of a broader UK rollout planned by Wolseley to expand access to renewables training and support.
