A new 291,000-square-foot (approximately 27,035-square-meter) cold storage warehouse has been built in New Century, Kansas, for CJ Logistics America. The plant-attached, build-to-suit facility was co-developed by BGO and Yukon Real Estate Partners.
The warehouse is rail-served and includes a direct rail spur to the building. It is located within the Johnson County Airport Commission’s New Century AirCenter industrial park and has access to the BNSF Railway transcontinental intermodal facility.
The property is less than four miles (less than 6.4 km) from Interstate 35. According to the project announcement, this location provides over-the-road reach to approximately 85% of the U.S. population within two days.
“This project reflects what is possible when a strong tenant relationship, a sophisticated logistics requirement, and the right public-sector partnership come together around a purpose-built solution,” said Mark Winter-Gitelson, Principal and President of Yukon Real Estate Partners.
BGO and Yukon Real Estate Partners have sold the facility to a MetLife Investment Management client.
