Family of Ultracompact II chillers with air-cooled condensers received latest-generation scroll compressors and now offered with lower GWP refrigerants R32, R452b, and R454b. Combined with this, operation efficiency has been lifted by 6% for chillers running on R410a and by 10% for those running on lower GWP gases.
New compressors used for Ultracompact II series feature line-start permanent magnet (LSPM) motors and low oil carryover rates. The line-start permanent-magnet motors start in asynchronous mode and, after synchronizing with operating frequency, run in synchronous mode – without rotor losses in operation, contributing to the higher operational efficiency of the chiller.
Ultracompact II chillers exceed the requirements of the Ecodesign Directive came into force in January 2021. The free-cooling version, Ultracompact II Freecool, will be available with lower GWP refrigerants in Q2 2021.
