Kaltra Launches New Lightstream Evo Chillers with Scroll Compressors

Kaltra has expanded its Evo platform with the introduction of air-cooled chillers equipped with scroll compressors. These units are compatible with refrigerants R410a, R452b, and R454b, and units with refrigerant R32 will be available for order in Q4 2024.

The new chillers offer cooling capacities ranging from 250 to 1250kW, featuring 2 to 4 refrigeration circuits. They incorporate all the benefits of the Evo platform, such as twin-slab condenser coils with dedicated subcoolers, built-in sequence management, and load-sharing functionality.

The twin-slab condenser design has significantly reduced the footprint and weight of the Lightstream Scroll Evo series, leading to a cost reduction. The series includes 64 base models and 512 modifications, offering two efficiency grades, four refrigerants, and various sound levels. Low-sound packages can minimize noise levels to 48dB(A) due to advanced soundproofing materials.

The Lightstream Scroll Evo chillers operate efficiently across a wide temperature range from -20ºC to 55ºC, making them suitable for various climates. Users can configure the chillers with integrated hydronic kits, including fixed- or variable-speed circulation pumps, buffer and expansion tanks, and other accessories. Additional options include fast restart, dual power supply, energy metering, and refrigerant leak detection.

The series boasts high energy efficiency, with SEPR HT values up to 6.15 and EERs up to 4.52 (for subrange HS). The Lightstream Scroll Evo chillers are designed for 50Hz power networks.

Kaltra's new scroll-compressor chillers on the Lightstream Evo platform offer exceptional energy efficiency, a variety of eco-friendly refrigerants, a broad operating range, and quiet operation.
