Airedale by Modine, a leader in critical cooling solutions, has unveiled its new coolant distribution unit (CDU), addressing the rising demand for high-performance, high-efficiency cooling in global data centers.
Manufactured in the US and Europe, the CDU targets colocation and hyperscale data centers, which require effective management of higher-density IT heat loads. With next-gen CPUs and GPUs driving complex IT applications like artificial intelligence, the resultant heat loads are best managed by liquid cooling solutions. Airedale's CDU serves as the core of any liquid cooling system, isolating facility water from IT equipment and distributing coolant precisely within server racks. Offering up to 1MW of cooling capacity and adhering to ASHRAE W2 or W3 standards, this unit epitomizes efficiency and quality.
The CDU is designed for complete, intelligent cooling systems, integrating with building management systems (BMS) for optimal performance and reliability. It supports networking of up to 8 CDUs, providing a scalable solution for various high-density loads. Engineered with high-quality materials and N+1 pump redundancy, it ensures consistent performance in uptime-critical environments.
“Our investment in the liquid cooling market strengthens Airedale by Modine’s position in the data center industry. We are witnessing increasing enquiries for liquid cooling solutions as providers shift to hybrid cooling approaches,” said Richard Burcher, Liquid Cooling Product Manager at Airedale by Modine. He added, “Airedale by Modine offers comprehensive systems, integrating air and liquid cooling with control across the thermal chain, supported by regional aftersales, providing our clients with complete life-cycle assurance.”
