Samsung expands HVAC portfolio with AI-driven residential and commercial systems

Samsung has introduced new residential and commercial HVAC systems featuring inverter technology, AI-powered controls, and support for low-GWP refrigerants. The latest product lineup focuses on energy efficiency, flexible installation, and intelligent performance management across a range of applications. The new solutions were presented at the AHR Expo 2026.

In the residential segment, Samsung launched the Hylex Universal, a non-proprietary inverter heat pump compatible with most 24VAC and TXV coils. Using R-454B refrigerant, Hylex supports heat pump, dual-fuel, and cooling-only configurations. The platform now includes the Hylex MPAH and Hylex A-Coil, forming a fully matched system intended to simplify installation and enable retrofit projects using existing piping and wiring.

Also introduced is the Bespoke AI WindFree Pro Mini Split System, which uses radar-based sensors to monitor occupancy and activity, adjusting airflow direction and intensity accordingly. AI Inverter and AI Energy technologies manage cooling performance while reducing noise and energy use. The system is part of Samsung's broader Bespoke AI appliance lineup.

For commercial applications, Samsung expanded its applied systems range with the DVM S2+ VRF system. The unit operates with low-GWP R-32 refrigerant and provides heating in temperatures as low as -22°F (-30°C). It features an onboard AI chip enabling refrigerant leak detection, adaptive defrost, and compressor optimization without cloud connectivity. The system meets UL Enhanced Tightness Refrigerant System (ETRS) requirements.

Samsung also introduced SmartThings Pro, a centralized platform for managing HVAC systems across multiple sites. Aimed at enterprises and HVAC professionals, it offers real-time monitoring, alerts, and remote diagnostics, along with tools for adjusting field settings and managing energy use through automation and AI-driven insights.

These additions reflect Samsung’s continued development of adaptable HVAC systems that align with sustainability goals and the evolving needs of residential and commercial environments.
