Bosch Home Comfort Group has introduced a new line of residential ductless heat pumps under the Hitachi brand. The airHome single and multi-room mini-split units are designed to lower utility bills, improve indoor air quality, and offer energy-efficient heating and cooling—particularly in colder climates.
The Hitachi airHome collection includes models tailored for varying homeowner needs and regional climate conditions. Features include Dry Mode to reduce humidity, HeatForce technology for consistent heating in temperatures as low as -22°F (-30°C), and Adaptive Defrost, a smart control system that monitors frost buildup to maintain optimal operation.
Each heat pump is equipped with FrostWash, a self-cleaning function that uses a freeze-thaw cycle to remove dust, mold, and debris. An integrated purification system provides additional filtration to help reduce viruses, bacteria, and mold, supporting better airflow and indoor air quality.
Users can operate the systems via the airCloud Go app, which supports remote control, voice activation through Amazon Echo or Google Home, and programmable settings. The app also includes a location-sensing feature for temperature pre-adjustment and an Energy Cost Estimator tool.
The airHome heat pumps are compatible with most local and federal rebate programs and use R-32 refrigerant.
“We've made this transition easier by eliminating the need to replace or install ductwork, while adding innovative features that enhance comfort, maximize savings and ensure reliability,” said David Budzinski, global deputy CEO and president, Americas, Bosch Home Comfort Group.
