Carrier adds AI-driven features to Abound Insights Assistant app

Carrier has announced enhancements to its Abound Insights Assistant app, aimed at helping building managers and facilities teams manage equipment operations and streamline maintenance activities. The app is part of Carrier Abound, a suite under Carrier Global Corporation, which focuses on intelligent climate and energy solutions.

The updated app delivers insights and recommendations for over 25 equipment categories in commercial buildings, including HVAC, refrigeration, and controls. These are generated by the Abound Insights AI platform, which analyzes equipment performance across building portfolios and delivers alerts and suggestions directly in the app.

One feature allows users to receive notifications such as suspected refrigerant leaks in chillers, along with specific details about the issue and associated risks, like potential compressor damage. This enables building teams to act proactively, including scheduling site inspections.

New functionality includes a ‘To-do List’ that displays AI-generated repair recommendations and service histories. An equipment health dashboard presents insights into energy efficiency and possible failures, while filters help users sort tasks by equipment category and required skills.

The Live Connect feature offers real-time equipment data, health status updates, and repair suggestions. Users can also track operational trends and review a Site Summary with reports that highlight assets needing attention.

“As we continue to innovate and expand our offerings, we are also empowering our customers with tools that enhance their efficiency and productivity,” said Yasir Qureshi, General Manager, Carrier Abound. “By integrating cutting-edge technology with user-friendly solutions, we are streamlining operations and enabling customers to attain exceptional building performance.”
