Carrier Japan Corporation (CJC) announces the launch of the air-cooled heat pump unit "USX FIT" as an energy-saving solution for industrial processes, factory air conditioning, and facility air conditioning, with orders starting from June 2024.
CJC introduced its first modular air-cooled chiller with an integrated water pump and fixed-speed compressor in 2003. Since then, modular air-cooled chillers have rapidly gained market acceptance, and many existing units are now due for replacement after years of service. The USX FIT meets these replacement demands and the design requirements of newly constructed buildings with its compact size and high capacity.
The USX FIT integrates advanced technologies from the "USX (Universal Smart X) series" and features an inverter-driven DC triple rotary compressor compatible with R32 refrigerant. This allows the unit to achieve high capacity in a compact size, making it suitable for both new installations and replacements of existing units.
Tomohiro Kubo, President of Carrier Japan Corporation, commented, "The USX FIT retains the high energy efficiency and risk distribution benefits of modular chillers while being compact enough to fit the unique architectural constraints of Japan. We will continue to offer diverse thermal solutions to meet our customers' needs."
Key Features:
- Compact Design: New casing dimensions of 1000mm width x 1850mm depth x 2350mm height, allowing installation in limited spaces. Ideal for urban areas with delivery constraints due to its lightweight and compact size.
- High Capacity: Despite its compact size, it offers high capacity, with a maximum of 50 horsepower (rated cooling capacity of 150kW) for cooling-only models and 40 horsepower (rated cooling/heating capacity of 118kW) for heat pump models.
- Expanded Application Range: Can supply 3°C chilled water, making it suitable for use in food factories and other applications.
- Standard Harmonic Suppression Function: Eliminates the need for additional measures like active filters.
- Power Factor 99%: Contributes to reduced power equipment size.
- Compatibility with Previous Models: Includes models designed for replacing older SFMC (Super Flex Module Chiller) units, considering compatibility with existing water piping connections, power wiring, and installation dimensions, enabling environmentally friendly thermal system updates by reusing existing equipment.
