Daikin has introduced the ERA range of condensing units, designed to provide energy-efficient climate control while using the lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerant R-32. The new units maintain the performance benefits of R-410A while contributing to reduced environmental impact.
Product Features and Applications
The ERA condensing units are compatible with Air Curtains and Direct Expansion (DX) Air Handling Units (AHUs) for both fresh air and air recirculation applications. The system pre-treats incoming air to ensure optimal indoor comfort.
The units aim to support installers and consultants looking for energy-efficient and lower-carbon HVAC solutions. The ERA series is designed for simplified installation and adaptable performance across multiple applications while meeting energy efficiency and environmental standards.
Key Benefits
- Energy Efficiency – Equipped with inverter technology, ERA units optimize power consumption, lowering operating costs and promoting energy conservation.
- Advanced Comfort Control – The units provide reliable temperature regulation, ensuring consistent climate conditions in commercial environments.
- Versatile Applications – Suitable for fresh air handling and recirculation, the ERA range can be integrated with air curtains and DX AHUs. The units offer flexible capacity configurations, with the possibility of combining circuits up to 120 kW.
- Flexible Control Options – The ERA series includes a control box supporting multiple control methods for recirculation and fresh air applications.
- Lower Environmental Impact – By using R-32 refrigerant, the ERA series significantly reduces GWP compared to R-410A systems.
Regulatory Considerations
The updated F-Gas regulation permits full serviceability of HVAC systems using R-410A or R-32 throughout their operational lifespan. However, from 2032, R-410A units can only be serviced with recycled or reclaimed refrigerant.
With the launch of the ERA series, Daikin continues to offer solutions that align with evolving environmental regulations while ensuring high performance in commercial HVAC applications.
