Midea showcases new HVAC products at C&R 2025

Midea Building Technologies (MBT) presented its latest energy-efficient HVAC solutions at the C&R 2025 exhibition in Madrid. Among the highlights were the new generation R32 VRF system, the MagBoost Apex Pro Magnetic Centrifugal Chiller, and the Mars Large R290 ATW Heat Pump — all featured in the event’s Innovation Gallery.

The new generation R32 VRF system was introduced overseas for the first time. It features an IP68 fully enclosed electric control box with phase-change refrigerant cooling, delivering 3.5 times the cooling performance of conventional designs. A 310° G-type heat exchanger increases the heat exchange area by 32% within the same footprint. With cooling and heating capacities ranging from 25.2 to 45 kW, the system offers flexible and energy-saving options for commercial buildings.

The Mars Large R290 ATW Heat Pump uses R290 refrigerant with low GWP and zero ODP. It delivers water temperatures up to 85 °C and maintains efficient performance in low-ambient conditions. With a compact 1.96 m² footprint and heating capacities from 50 to 70 kW, it is suitable for both residential and commercial use. The unit’s four-way accessible panel ensures ease of maintenance.

Also selected for the Innovation Gallery, the MagBoost Apex Pro Magnetic Centrifugal Chiller incorporates magnetic bearing technology, a back-to-back two-stage compressor, and a micro-channel refrigerant-cooled VFD. It is designed for high efficiency and low noise across large-scale applications, including data centers and commercial facilities.

MBT additionally showcased a wide range of solutions for residential, light-commercial, and industrial buildings. These included the EasyFit VRF system, Quantum Series, an ultra-high temperature magnetic water vapor compressor delivering 150–200 °C steam, and the AquaThermal Max inverter air-cooled scroll heat pump using R32 refrigerant.
