Daikin Launches New Polyvalent Unit EWYS-4Z for Efficient Heating and Cooling

Daikin introduces the new EWYS-4Z polyvalent unit, featuring Daikin's inverter-driven, single-screw compressors, designed to efficiently provide simultaneous cooling and heating for commercial and industrial applications. Utilizing R-513A refrigerant, which has a 55% lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) compared to R-134a, the unit maintains the same safety classification (A1).

Key Features and Performance:

  • Capacity Range: 400 to 800 kW in both cooling and heating modes.
  • Total Energy Efficiency Ratio (TER): Up to 7.89.
  • Operating Temperatures: From -18°C to +50°C.
  • Chilled Water Temperature Range: From -8°C to +20°C.
  • Heating Water Temperature Range: From +30°C to +60°C.

Versatile and Reliable:

The EWYS-4Z is ideal for various applications, including industrial and commercial buildings, hotels, and hospitals, ensuring reliable operation and optimal performance in diverse locations and weather conditions. A reduced noise configuration is available, featuring sound attenuation through lower fan speeds and a specially designed compressor cabinet.

Simultaneous Heating and Cooling:

Equipped with two Shell & Tube heat exchangers, the EWYS-4Z can simultaneously meet cooling and heating requirements year-round, adapting to changing climatic conditions without needing seasonal changeovers. The system controls the refrigerant circuits independently, based on actual demand.

Efficiency and Sustainability:

  • VFD Regulation and VVR Control: Ensures efficient operation with minimized energy losses.
  • No Starting Current Spikes: Ensures smooth operation without current spikes.
  • High Power Factor: Maintains a power factor greater than 0.95, reducing electrical losses.
  • Quick Comfort Conditions: Rapidly reaches set-point conditions, switching modes in less than a minute.

Reliable Operation:

  • Independent Refrigerant Circuits: Ensures maximum safety and ease of maintenance.
  • Refrigerant-Cooled VFD Technology: Not affected by environmental conditions, ensuring unparalleled reliability.
  • Balanced Mechanical Loads: Reduces component stress and extends the unit's life.

Integration and Monitoring:

  • Daikin Intelligent Chiller Manager (iCM): Manages up to 8 units, optimizing capacity and minimizing energy consumption.
  • Daikin on Site: A cloud-based remote monitoring system providing real-time data, ensuring proper functionality and preventive maintenance.
The new EWYS-4Z polyvalent unit sets a high benchmark in HVAC technology, offering significant benefits for commercial and industrial applications with its efficient, reliable, and sustainable performance.
