Danfoss launches Cool Ctrl evaporator control panels for industrial refrigeration

Danfoss has introduced Cool Ctrl, a new line of evaporator control panels aimed at simplifying the design, installation, and commissioning process for industrial refrigeration contractors and system integrators.

The Cool Ctrl range offers both Standard and Advanced models, designed to reduce the time and complexity involved in refrigeration system upgrades or new installations. According to Jay Lyon, Product Manager at Cool Ctrl System Controls, the panels address key challenges faced by contractors by providing pre-configured solutions that streamline setup.

The panels are delivered with standard control options already installed, eliminating the need for custom programming or coordination with hardware designers. The Advanced version includes a built-in web server and touchscreen interface, allowing contractors to configure multiple evaporators simultaneously.

Danfoss also highlights a reduction in PLC programming time. The control logic is embedded within the panel itself, enabling commissioning to start before the main PLC is installed. Control values and advanced settings are accessible directly from the main PLC system, which simplifies integration and programming tasks.

Cool Ctrl panels manage the operation of valves and fans for each evaporator, supporting optimal cooling and defrost sequences. "They’re designed to get the best performance from Danfoss valves and support a wide range of system configurations," says Lyon. "Contractors can be confident the entire refrigeration system will operate at peak efficiency — which ultimately benefits their customers."
