Danfoss launches EKE 315 superheat controller

Danfoss has introduced the EKE 315 superheat controller for industrial refrigeration systems, aiming to simplify installation and operation while improving efficiency and reliability. The controller is designed for use with expansion valves such as AKV or AKVA solenoid coils.

According to the company, the EKE 315 supports quick setup to reduce downtime and labor costs. A built-in wizard is intended to streamline commissioning, while a single 24 V AC or DC supply is designed to simplify electrical connections and integration.

For industrial applications, the controller provides 4-20 mA analog input and output and Modbus RTU RS 485 communication. Danfoss said the EKE 315 supports low-GWP refrigerants including ammonia, CO2, hydrocarbons and HFOs.

The EKE 315 also includes control algorithms such as Modulating Thermostat (MTR), Minimum Stable SuperHeat (MSS), LoadApp for load-defined superheat, and Suction Pressure Optimization (Po Optimization). In addition, the CoolConfig PC tool can replicate settings across multiple units and support project documentation.

Danfoss said the controller also offers 14 language options and a robust industrial design for demanding environments. The company said these features are intended to support system integration, project consistency and ease of use across single or multiple EKE 315 units.
