Danfoss Unveils NeoCharge for Efficient Industrial Refrigeration

Danfoss has launched NeoCharge, a groundbreaking plug-and-play solution designed to dramatically enhance the control and efficiency of industrial refrigeration systems. By allowing both new and existing systems to drastically reduce ammonia charge and energy consumption, NeoCharge represents a significant advancement in the pursuit of low-charge refrigeration solutions.

Low-charge systems have been a focal point in the refrigeration industry, promising reduced ammonia usage but challenging traditional control and retrofit methods. NeoCharge addresses these challenges by offering a versatile solution that can be easily integrated into any refrigeration system, whether classic recirculating or direct expansion.

The benefits of NeoCharge are substantial. Facility owners can cut energy costs by up to 20% compared to standard DX systems and increase system capacity by up to 40% without additional ammonia charge. This not only reduces operating costs but also minimizes the climate impact of refrigeration systems.

"With NeoCharge, contractors and facility owners can rejuvenate existing systems without undertaking a full overhaul. It's a truly plug-and-play solution," says Morten Juel Skovrup, an advisor at Danfoss who has been instrumental in developing NeoCharge.

NeoCharge's self-adaptive technology facilitates easy installation and versatility, whether in traditional overfeed systems or direct expansion systems. It offers a reduced system footprint and supports seamless retrofitting or new installations. This innovation lowers the entry barrier to low-charge refrigeration significantly, broadening participation in creating a more climate-friendly industry.
