Frascold Introduces Next-Generation Semi-Hermetic Compressors for 2025

The HVAC/R sector is evolving rapidly, driven by the need for more efficient, high-performance, and sustainable solutions. In response, Frascold has announced a new generation of semi-hermetic compressors set to launch in 2025, designed to overcome existing market limitations and meet the increasing complexity of refrigeration and heating applications.

Expanding the Scope of Compressor Applications

Frascold has long provided solutions for refrigeration applications, including food storage, logistics warehouses, freezing tunnels, data centers, and industrial processes. With the upcoming compressor series, the company is broadening its focus to include high-temperature applications, achieving operating temperatures of up to 165°C. This advancement enables new possibilities in industrial heating, district heating, and heat pumps, as well as applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food sectors.

The convergence of refrigeration and heating technology is driving a shift in both industries. HVAC/R solutions are becoming increasingly relevant for heating applications, while the refrigeration sector is exploring new opportunities beyond its traditional scope.

Efficiency and Performance for High-Temperature Applications

Frascold’s new compressor series is the result of extensive research and development, supported by collaboration with industry partners. The key features of these compressors include efficiency, reliability, and quiet operation, making them suitable for high-temperature applications without the need for hybrid or combustion-based systems.

“The most groundbreaking technical aspect of these compressors is undoubtedly their ability to push operational limits to levels never reached before,” said Livio Calabrese, Sales and Marketing Director of Frascold. He added, “The numerous market players who collaborated with us in developing these new compressors over the past five years were able to witness firsthand, right from the initial testing phases, the possibility of reaching temperatures of 80°C, 120°C, and even 165°C. The astonished expressions on their faces were certainly a strong motivation for our R&D team to develop a complete series, redefining industry standards.”

With this new compressor generation, Frascold aims to support the industry's transition toward more sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. The 2025 launch marks a significant step forward in both refrigeration and heating technologies.
