At Chillventa, J & E Hall unveiled its latest ammonia chiller concept using HallScrew semi-hermetic compressors. This innovation was designed to maximize cooling efficiency and reliability while minimizing operating costs. Known for its low charge, air-cooled technology, the chiller offered extensive cooling capacities suitable for a range of applications, including cold store cooling from -18°C to +15°C, process cooling between -25°C and +7°C, and comfort cooling.
Developed in collaboration with Daikin group companies, the chiller presented several advantages, such as a straightforward mechanical design aimed at simplifying service and maintenance. "The semi-hermetic compressor design enhances reliability and reduces maintenance," stated J & E Hall Technical Director, Manuel Camacho.
The HallScrew compressor technology, known for its low noise and ease of refurbishment, minimized service and maintenance costs while maximizing cooling capacities. The compressors required no motor-compressor shaft alignment or transition piece, allowing for convenient in-situ servicing.
