Johnson Controls Hitachi Air Conditioning Launches Innovative HVAC Solutions in Hong Kong

Johnson Controls Hitachi Air Conditioning is revolutionizing the HVAC industry with the launch of two state-of-the-art products: the air365 Max Pro and air365 SideSmart, both designed to deliver exceptional energy efficiency and cater to diverse market needs.

air365 Max Pro

The air365 Max Pro stands out for its unparalleled energy efficiency, advanced Japanese engineering, and innovative design. Incorporating Hitachi's patented SmoothDrive 2.0 direct capacity control technology, it significantly boosts energy efficiency and temperature stability, ensuring smooth compressor operation. At a 33% partial load rate, SmoothDrive 2.0 reduces system energy consumption by 39% and refrigerant usage by an average of 10%, leading to a 47% overall reduction in energy consumption and carbon footprint. Featuring a new heat exchanger and jet scroll compressor, the air365 Max Pro boasts an industry-leading Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of up to 5.60 and a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of up to 5.31.

air365 SideSmart

The air365 SideSmart is the world's first ultra-thin modular multi-connection device. Its adaptable design allows up to four units to be connected, providing a combined capacity of up to 72 HP and 200 kW of cooling. The slim modular structure ensures flexible installation options, making it one of the most feature-compatible VRF systems available. In recognition of its superior energy-saving performance and innovative design, the air365 SideSmart received the “Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award” at the 2021 ECCJ Japan Energy Conservation Awards.

Commitment to Hong Kong’s Sustainable Future

With a six-decade legacy in Hong Kong, Hitachi remains a trusted provider of home appliances, contributing to the city’s development into a world-class green and smart city. Responding to the increasing public demands for comfort and sustainability, Johnson Controls Hitachi Air Conditioning is committed to innovating and promoting next-generation HVAC solutions. These initiatives are designed to help customers navigate the opportunities and challenges of the energy transition and contribute to Hong Kong’s long-term goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.

The electricity consumption of buildings in Hong Kong represents 90% of the city’s total electricity use, generating over 60% of carbon emissions. Air conditioning alone accounts for 24% of commercial energy usage. Johnson Controls Hitachi Air Conditioning’s new products, featuring sustainable refrigerants and advanced technology, align with Hong Kong’s "Climate Action Blueprint 2050" to achieve carbon neutrality.

By introducing the air365 Max Pro and air365 SideSmart, Johnson Controls Hitachi Air Conditioning demonstrates its dedication to enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability, paving the way for a greener future in Hong Kong and beyond.

“We are entering a new era of HVAC using low-GWP refrigerants, pivotal for Hong Kong's goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. We are committed to providing energy-saving, low-carbon HVAC solutions to help Hong Kong customers meet carbon reduction challenges and combat climate change,” noted Lu Jiawei, Managing Director and General Manager of Johnson Controls Hitachi Air Conditioning Hong Kong.
