LG to launch AI-enabled residential AC range in Middle East

LG Electronics (LG) says it will bring a new line-up of residential air conditioning solutions with integrated artificial intelligence to the Middle East in Q2, following a recent launch in Georgia and Armenia. The company says its AI platform is designed to create an optimal indoor climate by sensing conditions and adapting operation beyond basic temperature adjustment.

LG says the systems use sensors to detect the environment and adjust airflow accordingly. As an example, it cites a 2 Ton DualCool split air conditioner (24,000 BTU/h, approx. 7.0 kW) designed to recognize human presence and activity in a space and automatically adapt airflow and intensity without manual intervention.

According to LG, the AI platform also enables precise control over air direction using dual vane technology, either directing air to specific areas or dispersing it for a softer breeze. The forthcoming range is also intended to manage indoor humidity levels and includes a sleep care system that optimizes temperature variations overnight.

LG adds that the AI can detect open windows and temporarily pause operations to reduce unnecessary energy use. The company also says the units feature self-cleaning technologies that are AI-optimized to help maintain internal components and keep circulated air fresh with minimal user effort.

LG says the line-up aims to transform conventional cooling appliances into intelligent systems that adapt to household dynamics, positioning the range as its next step in residential air conditioning.
