Marketair Inc., a New Jersey-based HVAC/R components supplier, has introduced the AC SpeedStick, an electronic float switch designed to prevent condensate overflow in mini-split and ductless air handlers. According to the company, the new device is the quickest to install in its category and is the first float switch of its kind to offer optional WiFi-based alert capabilities.
The AC SpeedStick WS-100 monitors the condensate drain line and shuts down the system when a blockage is detected. If equipped with the optional WiFi feature, it sends a notification via text or email to the HVAC service company, enabling immediate remote response. The product is UL-listed and compliant with the International Mechanical Code.
Installation is simplified with a push-fit water sensing probe designed for the evaporator coil’s secondary drain pan outlet, eliminating the need to disassemble the casing. The control module measures 3-3/8 x 2 x 1-1/2 inches (85 x 51 x 38 mm) and includes a hanging clip and double-sided tape for mounting. It also features universal color-coded wiring and supports connection to the condenser to interrupt current flow.
Additional features include LED indicators for status and WiFi connectivity, automatic reset, a 10-second delay to avoid false alarms, and a 4-foot (122-cm) wiring harness for larger coils. The unit comes with a two-year warranty and is compatible with most 120V/240V ductless air handlers.
“The service company can go and vacuum out the condensate drain line blockage from outdoors without entering the residence and return the unit to operation before the customer realizes there is a problem or returns home,” said Andrew Olefson, sales manager for the AC SpeedStick.
The product is scheduled to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of 2025.
