Schmitz Cargobull expands S.CU range with ePTO-ready and dc85 cooling units

Schmitz Cargobull has introduced new additions to its S.CU series of transport refrigeration units, including the S.CU d80 ePTO ready and the S.CU dc85, aimed at offering flexibility and efficiency in refrigerated transport. The S.CU d80 ePTO ready enables electric operation through the tractor unit’s electric power take-off, while the S.CU dc85 features optimized fuel consumption and advanced temperature control.

The S.CU d80 ePTO ready is available with an electric power take-off option ex works, allowing emission-free operation when paired with an electric tractor unit. The system operates without requiring an additional high-voltage battery in the trailer, providing flexibility in mixed fleets. If electric energy is unavailable, the unit automatically switches to diesel mode via its built-in generator.

The S.CU dc85 cooling unit uses diesel common rail technology and intelligent partial-load control to reduce fuel consumption. Its electronic speed control ensures precise and stable temperature management. The MultiTemp version of the dc85 allows for fast, secure loading and maximizes interior height using a recessed roof evaporator and protective frame.

Both models feature a microchannel condenser for improved performance at high ambient temperatures and reduced refrigerant use. Integrated electric heating elements and wider slat spacing in the defrost system reduce defrost cycles by 30%. A standard Silence Kit ensures low-noise operation.

All S.CU units include a 24-month Full Service contract with TrailerConnect telematics, providing real-time monitoring and remote control via features such as CargoSets, RemoteStart, and Proactive Monitoring. Customers can extend and tailor service contracts to meet operational needs.
