Secop has launched the MS18UVULTM, a new electronically controlled variable-speed compressor designed for ultra-low temperature (ULT) medical cooling applications. The unit targets next-generation cold chain cabinets, offering improved energy efficiency and compatibility with green refrigerants.
The MS18UVULTM supports a wide cooling capacity range, enabling reduction of compressor variants. It is designed for use in systems requiring precise temperature control, including storage for mRNA-based vaccines. The compressor operates on a global voltage range of 90–270 V at 50–60 Hz and is approved for ULT refrigerants.
Secop reports that retrofitting a professional ULT freezer with the MS18UVULTM and using R290/R170 refrigerants resulted in 35–40% energy savings. The unit’s compact condensing design, integrating two compressors, also reduced system volume by 23%.
The MS18UVULTM meets World Health Organization (WHO) standards and is optimized for propane and ethane refrigerants.
