Thermocold offers the AWA HP SEA/XEA series of high-efficiency air/water heat pumps designed for heating applications with axial fans and scroll compressors. The units provide heating capacities from 124 kW to 644 kW (approx. 423,000–2,197,000 BTU/h) and cooling capacities from 128 kW to 632 kW (approx. 437,000–2,156,000 BTU/h).
The units are designed to operate with outdoor temperatures down to -15°C (5°F) and can deliver a maximum output water temperature of 60°C (140°F). The series complies with Directive ErP 2009/125/EC, which sets ecodesign requirements for energy-related products.
The AWA range is available with R454B refrigerant featuring low global warming potential (GWP). Versions using R410A refrigerant are available only for models developed on the 4/5/6 V platform.
Key technical components include scroll compressors, axial fans depending on the model range, and a stainless steel brazed plate heat exchanger on the water side with external insulation and a supplied flow switch. The air side heat exchanger uses finned coils with seamless copper tubes expanded into corrugated aluminium fins with hydrophilic coating.
The units include condensing and evaporating control, an electronic expansion valve, and a galvanized and painted steel frame. An advanced controller with a touch screen is also integrated. Multiple configurations are available, including heat pump (H), energy (D), acoustic (L/E), and several hydraulic versions such as B1/A2/B2/A2 and SB/SA – XB/XA with integrated water tank.
