Arkema presented its expanded portfolio of low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants and advanced cooling technologies at the AHR Expo 2026 in Nevada, with a focus on HVAC applications and the growing data center market.
The company showcased its next-generation Forane® refrigerants, including Forane® 454B, positioned as a leading replacement for R410A in comfort cooling systems. Forane® 454B offers a significantly lower GWP than Forane® 410A while maintaining the performance, reliability, and serviceability required by OEMs and contractors. Other refrigerants in the low-GWP line include Forane® 32, 448A, 449A, 452A, 513A, and HTS 1233zd.
Arkema also emphasized its thermal management solutions tailored for data centers, addressing the sector’s increasing energy efficiency and emissions reduction requirements. For chiller systems, Forane® 513A and HTS 1233zd provide non-flammable, low-GWP options compatible with medium and low-pressure systems. Forane® HTS 1233zd is also designed for direct-to-chip liquid cooling, supporting high-density server operations with improved thermal stability.
Additionally, Forane® FBA 1233zd was highlighted for use in foam insulation and roofing applications, contributing to high-efficiency building envelopes and reduced energy consumption in data centers.
Arkema's offerings for data centers span its adhesives, coatings, and advanced materials segments.
“At AHR Expo, we're demonstrating how Arkema's refrigerants and thermal management technologies support the vast range of cooling applications—from HVAC to data center operations,” said Anthony O'Donovan, President and CEO of Arkema Inc. “Our portfolio reflects our long-term commitment to sustainability, performance, and partnership with customers navigating rapid industry change.”
