Carrier Germany presents complete package for the sustainable air conditioning of data centres at Data Centre World Frankfurt

At Data Centre World in Frankfurt on 22 and 23 May 2024, Carrier Germany will be presenting its complete range of devices and services for the sustainable and efficient air conditioning of data centres in hall 8, stand C030. The portfolio enables customised solutions from a single source and takes into account the special requirements for security and flexibility of the systems. Carrier’s air conditioning systems provide cooling and heat recovery while reducing energy consumption and the carbon footprint.

A new addition to the appliance portfolio for datacenters is the air-cooled liquid chiller AquaForce 30XF, equipped with an integrated hydronic free-cooling system and variable-speed inverter drives, which combine to deliver energy savings of up to 50% during total free-cooling operation.

The chillers, available on ultra-low global warming potential refrigerant HFO R-1234ze(E), offer excellent resilience with an ultra-fast recovery system that, in the event of a power cut, can resume 100% of cooling output within two minutes of power being restored. This ensures cooling is maintained for critical servers and data protected.

Available in capacities from 400kW to 2100kW, the chiller can operate in a wide range of ambient conditions, from -20 to 55 C.

As heat recovery plays a major role in data centres – whether for heating their own rooms or for supplying local or district heating to external customers – Carrier provides high temperature heating solutions to harness waste heat and help reducing the carbon footprint and achieving ambitious EU decarbonization goals.

The water-cooled centrifugal liquid chiller, direct evaporation systems, precision air conditioning cabinets and fan walls round off the range of appliances.

The Carrier PlantCTRL control system integrates all components into an automated network that is customised to the specifications of the respective system. It is compatible with the Carrier i-Vu Building Automation System, which combines all of a building's subsystems in a web-based platform that can be used to easily monitor, control and analyse the operation of the data centre. Powerful visualisation tools, robust process tracking and secure user auditing options facilitate smart strategies to balance efficient energy use with the need to maximise uptime and meet service level agreements.

In addition to the equipment portfolio and control technology, Carrier will be represented at the trade fair with a comprehensive range of services for data centres. The BluEdge service platform includes expert advice and a choice from a modular service offering with a range of options that utilise remote networking capabilities, from predictive maintenance to remote monitoring and control of the system. If there is a need for temporary temperature control due to planned upgrades or for other reasons, Carrier Rental is ready with its portfolio of rental equipment to ensure uninterrupted operation.
