Carrier Transicold to Showcase Electric and Sustainable Solutions at IAA Transportation 2022 in Germany

Carrier Transicold will demonstrate its commitment to a sustainable future by showcasing its full range of next-generation temperature-controlled transport refrigeration units in Hanover, Germany at IAA Transportation 2022, with a particular focus on electrification. Visitors will be treated to a first look at the all-new Pulsor eCool and Vector HE 17 systems, which represent significant steps toward further decarbonising the cold chain.

IAA Transportation visitors will be the first to see Carrier Transicold’s electric Pulsor eCool unit powering the ever-growing electric light commercial vehicle market. Utilizing the proven advanced technology inherited from Pulsor and the Vector eCool, it is the first unit of its kind for light commercial vehicles (LCV). It operates through a direct connection to the high voltage DC of the main vehicle batteries with no additional converter or battery pack. This cost-effective plug-and-play design is also developed to communicate in real-time with vehicle data to ensure optimal temperature-control and battery performance, making it the ideal solution for last mile delivery and electrification needs.

Carrier Transicold will also showcase the new engineless Syberia 14 extending the existing range. This nosemount solution has been designed to get the most of our eDrive technology. Reaching a high cooling capacity of up to 14 kW in multi-temperature application thanks to its impressive efficiency, never reached before in transport refrigeration. These performances help address future challenges.

The new Vector HE 17 unit, featuring variable frequency drive technology on the compressor combined with proven E-Drive all-electric technology, will enhance the company’s range of Vector high efficiency units. Achieving best-in-class total cost of ownership and best-in-class fuel consumption, the Vector HE 17 unit delivers improved refrigeration output.

The new variable frequency drive technology on the compressor continuously alters the motor speed to match the air demand. It increases efficiency, reduces the risk of refrigerant leaks and fuel consumption. The Vector HE 17 unit will also be available in PIEK (City version) and silent variants, offering improved sound performance over the standard unit, making it ideally suited to both long haul and urban operations.

Also in Hanover will be the company’s latest Supra HE range, and Xarios 8 unit for an efficient truck and LCV refrigeration.

Elsewhere on Carrier Transicold’s stand is its flagship Vector eCool all-electric engineless refrigerated trailer system plus an exciting new addition to the trailer electric range, to be unveiled on opening day of the event.
