Climate Change Challenges Take Center Stage at CONBRAVA 2025

The rising demand for HVAC&R solutions that combine energy efficiency with sustainability will take center stage at the XIX CONBRAVA – Brazilian Congress on Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Heating, and Air Treatment. The event’s theme, “HVAC&R and the Challenges of Climate Change,” highlights the critical role of the sector in addressing global environmental challenges. The congress will be held from September 10–12, 2025, at the São Paulo Expo, São Paulo, Brazil.

Organized by ABRAVA (the Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation, and Heating), CONBRAVA is recognized as Latin America's largest HVAC&R congress and serves as a key platform for sharing knowledge and showcasing technological innovations.

Leadership and Goals

Charles Domingues, President of the CONBRAVA 2025 Organizing Committee, emphasized the importance of the event, stating:
"It is a great honor to lead Latin America's largest HVAC&R congress. We are aware of the challenges and responsibilities of organizing the 2025 edition and are working intensively to bring innovations and drive conceptual changes that reflect global trends."

The theme aims to spark deeper reflection within the HVAC&R sector on the critical societal and environmental challenges it faces. Domingues added, “We want to emphasize the importance of responsible practices, continuous pursuit of knowledge, technological innovation, and advancements focused on energy efficiency.”

History and Significance

Since its inception in 1987, CONBRAVA has grown from a technical meeting to an internationally recognized forum. Over 17,000 professionals have participated in its sessions, which have featured more than 450 presentations. The congress remains committed to fostering technological development and promoting discussions on trends and innovations in HVAC&R.

Concurrent Events and Call for Papers

CONBRAVA 2025 will be held alongside FEBRAVA – the International Trade Fair for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Heating, Air, and Water Treatment, from September 9–12.

The organizing committee has issued a call for papers, encouraging submissions from researchers, students, industry professionals, and other stakeholders. Abstract submissions are open until February 10, 2025. The congress has identified five main themes, subdivided into 27 subtopics: Air Conditioning, HVAC&R Applications, Refrigeration, HVAC&R as a Quality of Life Provider, and Equipment and Systems.

The top three papers, selected by audience vote, will receive cash prizes:

  • 1st place: R$5,000
  • 2nd place: R$3,000
  • 3rd place: R$1,000

Full submission guidelines are available on the official website: www.conbrava.com.br.
