Frascold – a leading player in the development, production and marketing of semi-hermetic compressors for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry – will be present at the 3rd edition of Refrigera (Hall 30 / booth A2 B1), a unique exhibition in Italy dedicated to the entire industrial, commercial and logistics refrigeration supply chain. The event, scheduled from 7th to 9th November 2023, represents for Frascold the ideal stage for the presentation, in world premiere, of a series of revolutionary innovations, an expression of the evolution of its new strategic positioning: a renewed corporate identity and a new series of HT compressors, suitable for the development of high-temperature heat pumps through the use of sustainable refrigerants, such as propane.

FRASCOLD EVOLVES IN POSITIONING AND VISUAL IDENTITY

The new rebranding gives resonance to Frascold's new vision, which considers sustainable innovation the beating heart of business growth. An invisible asset that represents the value system shared by the entire Organisation and enclosed in the objective of offering its customers solutions for cutting-edge heating systems and heat pumps.

"We have literally warmed up the brand by mixing, in a temperature measurement scale represented by the degree symbol, the blue and orange colours, testifying to our desire to establish ourselves as an authoritative partner also in the field of heating. In detail, the company's desire is to go beyond the technical-functional performance of products, in order to position itself as a reliable, flexible and innovative solution-oriented partner, with the desire to transform the way in which companies and end consumers face challenges not only in the world of cold, but also in that of heat."  Giuseppe Galli, CEO of Frascold, concludes "We are recognised on the market for our ability to develop customised solutions, thanks to a high added value approach, which promotes proximity to the customer worldwide in the pre- and post-sales phases, in the name of sharing know-how and synergistic collaborations. The Refrigera fair is a perfect opportunity to present, after months of planning and dedication, the journey undertaken by the company towards offering increasingly cutting-edge solutions for the world of heating and heat pumps. For this reason, we look forward to unveiling our new identity to the public, an expression of the innovative and sustainable vision that has always been at the heart of Frascold."

HEAT PUMPS: A CONSTANTLY EVOLVING MARKET

This is how Frascold responds to the growing need of the comfort sector to pursue progressive decarbonisation and to become net zero by 2050, in order to achieve a balance of emissions, in line with the Green Deal and recent updates on F-Gas. According to Eurostat data, energy for heating and cooling accounts for almost 50% of the EU’s overall consumption with over 70% still coming from fossil fuels, for which more sustainable alternatives need to be found. The installation of heat pumps in Europe has in fact registered a 35% increase between the year 2020 and the year 2021 and the size of the global market is expected to grow from 62.58 billion dollars in 2023 to 99.87 billion dollars by 2028, with a CAGR growth rate of 9.80%. Their success is due to the possibility of combining them with renewable sources, to limit the consumption of heating and, in their reversible version, also of cooling. Instead of generating heat through combustion, they use electricity in conjunction with a refrigeration cycle, extracting heat from the outside air, groundwater, or heat exchangers.

HT SERIES SETS NEW STANDARDS FOR HEAT PUMPS

The innovative HT series of piston compressors by Frascold, launched in the propane version and designed for use in air-water heat pumps, excels in providing domestic hot water at a temperature of up to 80°C, thanks to a gas compression that reaches 40 bar. The unprecedented technology sets new performance and efficiency standards, surpassing the constraints present in current heat pumps on the market, capable of heating domestic water only up to 45°C, compressing the gas up to a maximum pressure of 30 bar. A further plus is contained in the design optimisation of the compressor and a complete redesign of its internal components, designed to guarantee excellent performance in different climatic conditions, even with external temperatures up to -25° C. High-temperature heat pumps will represent the ideal alternative for retrofitting systems in historic buildings or in totally inefficient buildings, thanks to their installation flexibility and the possibility of maintaining the pre-existing distribution system, without having to resort to a hybrid configuration, that is, combining a heat pump with a condensing boiler.

Finally, the HT compressor range is designed for operation with R290 propane natural gas and is ATEX certified. This result comes from the expertise and competence of Frascold's Technical Department, which has resolved any plant criticality such as high pressure, making possible the safe use of this hydrocarbon, characterised by excellent thermodynamic properties and reduced environmental impact (zero ODS and GWP equal to 3).

The HT series, already available on the market in 4 sizes S, V, Z and W, was originally designed for use in heat pumps intended for commercial installations and in residential contexts above 20 kW, but, due to its considerable application versatility, it is also ideal in the industrial and tertiary sectors, such as in pellet drying plants, schools and gyms.

To complete Frascold's offer, during the exhibition it will be possible to see the semi-hermetic screw compressor FVR, the standard piston compressor Q and the CO2 compressors represented by the S-SK3 and Z-TK models.

"Frascold's commitment to contributing to an effective ecological transition is based on its solid foundations in the search for increasingly advanced solutions. The future development of the Company moves along this line and that is why we are, in fact, the first to offer this unprecedented technology for high-temperature heat pumps on the market, capable of combining high performance, greater efficiency, safety and a reduced environmental impact." says Giuseppe Galli, who concludes "The launch of the HT compressor series reflects our mindset aimed at creating 360° value, also witnessed by the new restyling of our brand identity, which positions the company as an all-round partner for temperature solutions not only for the refrigeration and air conditioning sectors, but also for the heating and heat pump sectors."
